Vans III Crown

Vans celebrated its internationally known Triple Crown surf tournament on the north shore of Hawaii for its 25th. Traditionally, the poster had been illustrated by older and well established surf artists. For this 25 year anniversary, the approach was to create a fresh appeal in its poster. It was important to for them to keep the native and historical history of surfing in Hawaii, yet capture the attention of the new wave of surfers and fans of this event.
