John Peed, owner and founder of famed the Cold Open studio in Venice, California gave me a lot of room to explore any painting I wanted to create. He had only expressed certain color palettes. This painting is inspired by the mythical female spirits that come out of a deciduous tree during the first chilly breeze to alter the chroma of leaves and later place them on the ground for nourishing detritus. If you view the time lapse, you’ll notice I had a different 1/3 finished painting underneath the finished one.
