Geoff Hollister Dedication Mural
It had been a year since the passing of Nike legend and #3 employee, Geoff Hollister, on February 3rd, 2014. As Nike’s 3rd employee, he left an indelable lineage at Nike. Tragically, he passed away a day before National Cancer Awareness Day, a cause he was incredibly passionate about. His contributions of the Aqua Sock, ’72 Olympics track suite designs, championing the infacy of professional running, and other countless iconic moments of tack and running are still felt today. Being responsible for this epic genealogy and respecting his family’s wishes through the entire process of this mural design, was a profound honor. The mural was 85% completed in the studio, his most famous quote was painted live on the anniversary of his passing on the Nike campus. Geoff’s widow was there to share her exuberance on this mural dedication along with DJ Nature of famed Live & Direct Crew providing fresh vinyl. This piece will be broken up into 4 sections and permanently installed on the Hollister Trail at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, OR.
